Jimmy Santangelo's The Wine Academy of Utah has been selected to participate in the Napa Valley Vintners Ambassador program to coordinate and provide various tasting events in the Utah marketplace. These tasting events will include consumer socials, wine dinners and educational seminars for both hospitality professionals and wine enthusiasts to promote the Napa Valley wine growing region. Look for announcements and invitations to cool wine events throughout the year–starting with, see below.
When Michael Cooperman, Education Marketing Manager of Napa Valley Vintners (a 70-year old 500-member nonprofit trade association of Napa wineries), was asked about selecting the Wine Academy of Utah for the Ambassadorship program, he stated, “We feel that the owner of the Wine Academy, Jim Santangelo, brings the right amount of enthusiasm and dedication to wine education that would extend our mission to promote and enhance the Napa Valley appellation.
I'd turn up "enthusiasm" to "passion" and "dedication" to love, but I get what Copperman means.
Two events are scheduled this fall. The Leonardo Museum will host a “Tasting Tour of Napa Valley” food and wine social on Sunday, August 24 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The BTG Wine Bar will host a “Taking over the Taps”— a ten-day event during the month of September that will feature a variety of wines from Napa Valley. The last evening features a four-course meal paired with eight Napa Valley wines.
