Family-friendly
The LDS Film Festival doesn't cater only to Mormon audiences. Instead, it features family-friendly entries by local filmmakers.
The films
Of course, successful LDS-themed films, including Saints and Soldiers and The Errand of Angels, have gained major boosts by being in the fest. "But overall, it's just a great place to see a collection of films by great artists who are passionate about their craft," says submission coordinator Brandon Smith. Theaters fill up—so get tix early.
24 hours
The major highlight is the 24-Hour Filmmaking Marathon screenings, featuring films shot in one day by locals who, immediately before filming, were given a theme and object to include. Last year's theme was generosity, and the object a dollar bill.
Celebs
The fest is known for some big names. Last year, director Daryn Tufts showed his film, My Girlfriend Boyfriend, starring Alyssa Milano.
