Mothers Without Borders will host their 7th annual charity boutique at the downtown Greek Orthodox Church on Friday, November 2 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. This boutique is the largest fundraiser of the year for MWB, showcasing unique carvings, jewelry, quilts and nativity scenes, which are handcrafted by local villagers in Zambia, Africa. The event will feature a Kid’s Korner with gently used children’s books for sale. The Greek Orthodox Ladies organization will be serving a delicious lunch Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ailey II, the younger company in the Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, is setting a high bar for the 2012-2013 Season at Park City's Eccles Center beginning Friday, Nov. 2 at 7:30 p.m. With their four contemporary ballets, “Echoes,” “Rusty,” “Divining” and “Revelations,” these vibrant dancers continue to push the limits of contemporary modern dance. PLEIN AIR ART INVITATIONAL IN ZION NATIONAL PARK
If you can spend only one day in Zion National Park this year, make it Saturday, November 10, when 25 of the nation’s best landscape artists will begin painting at 1:00 p.m. on the lawn in front of the Zion Lodge and will each create a masterpiece by 2:30. This “Quick-Draw” event is perhaps the most intriguing part of the annual week-long “In the Footsteps of Thomas Moran” Plein Air Art Event in Zion.
Artists will be painting in the park through the week of Nov. 4-10, with free daily painting demonstrations at the Zion Human History Museum, and evening lectures at the Zion Lodge. Paintings produced during the week will be on sale in the Zion Nature Center Nov. 10-12. Proceeds benefit special projects in the park through the Zion National Park Foundation.
November is a magical time in the park. There are relatively few people in the canyon, the colors are magnificent, and the opportunity to see great artists at work is priceless.

The hit kid's show is coming to Salt Lake on it's 2012 fall tour. Cyrus Cassells, a translator, actor, film critic, teacher and poet, will be the featured guest at Westminster Poetry Series' Free Poetry Reading on Nov. 5.
Cassells' poems explore bravery, music, beauty and redemption. He has received a lambda literary award and the William Carlos Williams award.

UDR's Domestic Mediation Training builds upon basic mediation practices and skills as presented in the Basic Mediation Training workshop. The Domestic training presents topics specific to mediating domestic issues, particularly divorce, custody, custody and paternity cases. The workshop provides training in dividing assets and debts, developing parenting plans, calculating child support, and addressing other on-going child-related expenses and tax considerations. This training is offered with two variations: 32 and 40 hours; each variation is described below. This highly interactive workshop gives participants a foundation of knowledge for mediating in the domestic arena and provides opportunities to gain experience conducting mock mediations in a domestic context.
A variety of presenters includes professional practitioners who work in the family arena including psychologists, mediators, and attorneys. This workshop covers the following topics: * Utah Domestic Law Basics (40-hour version) * Steps for Obtaining a Divorce in Utah * Psychological and Emotional Factors in Divorce * Convening the Mediation * Parenting Plans * Child Support and Child-Related Expenses * Dividing Assets * Allocating Debts * Tax Considerations * Writing a Memorandum of Understanding * Ethical Considerations in Domestic Mediation * Domestic Violence Awareness * Intake Procedures and Domestic Violence Screening Prerequisites Prior to attending this training, participants must complete a 40-hour court-approved Basic Mediation Training and twenty hours of practicum as required to qualify as a basic level mediator on the Utah Court Roster.
Special pre-release benefit screening of acclaimed documentary film, Birth Story: Ina May Gaskin and the Farm Midwives at the Salt Lake City Public Library. As part of the Anne Newman Sutton Weeks Poetry Series, six contributors to The Collection: Short Fiction from the Transgender Vanguarrd present a free reading for the public. On its West Coast debut, there are 28 authors represented in the book, including one talented Westminster student picked from hundreds of submissions. The work showcases the future of transgender literature and is considered one of the next great movements in queer art.
