1 Billion Rising

SHEROES United, YWCA, dozens of other Utah non-profits and local dance studios joined several hundred women and the men that love them at the Utah State Capitol for 1 Billion Rising, a global effort to raise awareness of violence against women. The event coincided with flash mob dances held worldwide on Feb. 14. Dancers wore pink, black, white and red, and SHEROES United hosted a second flash mob later that day at the Gateway Mall, followed by an after party at the Union Station where Rebecca Musser, who escaped and testified against the FLDS, gave a keynote speech.
