The National Ability Center supported 17 para-athletes who have trained in Park City at the 2014 Paralympics in Sochi, Russia, held March 7–16. Among the athletes, more than half of the Paralympic snowboarders who competed in the inaugural snowboard cross event had ties to the National Ability Center and the National Ability Center Team Utah Adaptive Snowboard Program. Other Paralympians who had benefited from the nonprofit’s programs included alpine skiers Erik Bayindirli (Turkey), Danelle Umstead (USA), Arly Velasquez (Mexico), Stephani Victor (USA), Santiago Vega (Chile) and sled hockey player Greg Shaw (USA).
