Beards, Brats and Beers, an SLC Mixers event, introduced local coffee maker Charming Beard Coffee at their primary tasting space, Missio Dei Community Space, on Feb. 2. The highlight of the evening was a beard contest, where Nels Elde won the title Mr. Charming Beard 2013, along with a "coffee of the month" membership and free coffee for a year at Java Dolce. Guests enjoyed brats from Caputo's Butcher Shop with house-made kraut from Vertical Diner, Uinta beers and Charming Beard Coffee. Master Roaster Levi Rogers told guests the origin of the coffee, and Frody Volgger of Caupto's gave a speech showing his support for the new company.
