Circle the Wagons, a non-profit working to advance the rights of crime victims, raised $18,000 and announced new partnerships with law enforcement and victim advocates at the first annual Porch Party fundraiser at Eggs in the City on Sept. 24. More than 200 guests attended, and Chief Chris Burbank and Coordinator for Victim Advocates Wendy Isom of the Salt Lake County Police Department gave keynote speeches. Lori Tolbert catering served food and drinks, and guests were entertained by folk singer Trenton McKean and bluegrass band Swamp Boogie. The non-profit announced its new partnership with Unified Police Department and is planning to roll out programs with Murray City and Tooele County Police Departments. Overall, the night was a success and plans are being made to hold the fundraiser again next year.
