Parade-goers woke up early and many camped out for SLC's biggest sleepover to catch the Days of '47 Parade on the morning of July 25. This year's theme was "Press Forward Pioneers," and more than 100 entrants—many carrying prominent Utahns like Governor Gary Herbert and LDS Church President Thomas S. Monson—made their way along the route. Bands, clowns and colorful floats also kept the crowd entertained. The parade started at South Temple and State Street ended near Liberty Park and is the biggest in the state. It was all broadcast live on KSL 5 and commemorated the Mormon pioneers' arrival in 1847.
