On March 22, Alta Club held their first Winemakers Dinner of the year with guest host Dan Goldfield of Dutton-Goldfield Winery. Only members and their guests were invited, and the event was capped at 43 for an intimate evening, which started with a social reception followed by dinner. Alta Club prepared an elaborate menu to pair with Dutton-Goldfield wines, including '08 "Dutton Ranch" Chardonnay, '08 "Dutton Ranch" Pinot Noir, '09 "Rued Vineyard" Chardonnay and '08 "Devils Gulch" Pinot Noir. For dessert, warm apple and fig strudel and vanilla bean ice cream with Syrah syrup were served with '07 Dutton Goldfield "Cherry Ridge" Syrah. The dinner was one of Alta Club's most successful winemaker dinners yet, and the restaurant is planning to host another this fall.
