2013 Chili Open Gala

Sugar House Rotary Club held the Chili Open Golf Classic, adding to a total of more than $4 million raised for local charities over the past 22 years. More than 420 guests helped kick off the events with a gala at the Little America Hotel on Feb. 1. Representatives of the rotary club's charities spoke about their goals, while guests bid in the silent auction. During dinner, auction winner Barry Bank had his charicature drawn by artist Pat Bagley. VIPs at the event included Senator Gene Davis and Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams. The next day, guests enjoyed chili and a golf tournament at Wheeler Farm, along with 5K and 1K runs and children's activities.
The rotary club's charities include Read Out and Read Utah, Cancer Wellness House, Pingree Center for Children with Autism, People Helping People, The Sharing Place, SPLORE, and Teen Challenge New Hope House.
