Body cam: perfect gift for any nurse!

Everyone knows that body cams have changed the police-misconduct game. It’s pretty hard to get away with, let’s say—jerking around an uppity nurse when you’ve got an unblinking “electronic conscience” recording the event for a jury.

But here’s the problem. Many PDs don’t have enough body cams for their officers. And, sometimes, officers accidentally turn off their body cams during the crucial moments.

Enter Wolfcom, a long-time manufacturer of body cams for cops that hopes to expand their market to folks on the other side of the thin blue line. Here’s how Wolfcom pitches their $150 Venture electronic eye: “… giving everyone the ability to record and document, not only those important moments in their lives, but critical events like peaceful rallies and marches that could at any time erupt into violence.”

Just think how much sooner Mayor Jackie Biskupski would have issued a lame apology if Nurse Alex Wubbels had her own body cam!

If you like nurses—and who doesn’t—you can be a part of it. Check out Wolfcom’s Indiegogo campaign, which has a funding goal of $25,000.

Wolfcom’s President Peter Austin Onruang found his inspiration in the news. “The violence in Charlottesville, Virginia, made us realize the need for this camera. People need a way to broadcast the truth to the world. This civilian version of our law enforcement camera is ideal for any profession, students, activists, trades people, drivers or the everyday adventurer.

Who have thought we’d have to add to that list ER nurses?
