Exploring Nature Speaker Series: Saving the Monarchy

April 10 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Free with Admission

Join Tracy Aviary for an engaging presentation on the iconic monarch butterfly. We’ll explore their amazing migration (up to 3000 miles!), what it takes to visit Utah each year, and how each of us can help them avoid the Endangered Species List.

Join Tracy Aviary monthly, April – August, for our new Exploring Nature Speaker Series.

This month, we explore the iconic monarch butterfly and hear from the founder of Utah Friends of Monarchs, Rachel Taylor, as she works to secure this species’ future one milkweed seed at a time.

About the Presenter: Founder of “Utah Friends of Monarchs,” Rachel Taylor
Rachel Taylor is a Utah native who grew up when monarch butterflies where plentiful. She has spent the past decade as a “Citizen Scientist”, planting milkweed, attracting and tagging monarchs, and gaining expertise in these amazing creatures. She founded “Utah Friends of Monarchs” and shares native milkweed seeds freely throughout the state, offering presentations on “Saving the Monarchy” to organizations ranging from gardening groups to classes at Red Butte Garden, and Osher to the BLM.
