Join Cotopaxi and Rebel Girls for an International Women’s Day event at the Front Climbing Club in Salt Lake City at 5 pm on Friday, March 6th. We’ve joined forces with the International Rescue Committee to support the launch of Rebel Girls’ newest book, Junko Tabei Masters the Mountains. The Cotopaxi Foundation will be sponsoring free climbing for all girls under 17 and a presentation will be given by National Geographic youth explorer, Lilliana Libecki, and her dad, Mike Libecki.
All community members are welcome to join.

Nat Geo Explorer/Nat Geo Adventurer of the Year, Mike Libecki can define his life in two ways: An obsession with exploring and climbing the worlds most remote first ascents …And a being a dedicated father to a daughter who wants to save the world. Libecki has completed more than 85 major expeditions all over the planet with a goal of 100 expeditions. Mike is also a producer, director, videographer, photographer, humanitarian and conservationist, his experience has led to a focus on humanitarian and philanthropic work around the world. Young Nat Geo Explorer and Founder of The JoyFund, Lilliana Libecki at the age of 16, has already been to 28 countries, all 7 continents, and seven major expeditions, including two expeditions to Antarctica, ascent of Kilimanjaro in Africa, and a 150-mile trek through the Himalaya of Nepal, 18K foot peaks in Peru…all of which have also focused on humanitarian and conservation work. Lilliana founded her own nonprofit 501c3 organization (when she was 12, with help from her dad) that focuses on conservation and humanitarian work around the world…
