Event Details

The U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree Tour will have two designated stops in Wyoming this November. As the tree makes its way from Willamette National Forest in Oregon to the Capitol in Washington, D.C., it will make stops at Ft. Bridger State Historic Site in Fort Bridger and the Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site in Laramie.

To celebrate the arrival of the tree, a free event will be held at Fort Bridger State Historic Site on Saturday, November 17 and at the Wyoming Territorial Prison on Sunday, November 18. The tree viewing events will take place from 9-10 a.m. MST in both locations. Cookies and hot chocolate will be served to visitors, who are welcome to take photos of the tree. At the Wyoming Territorial Prison, tree ornaments will be given to the first 100 people who arrive.

The U.S. Capitol Christmas tree is set to take a journey over 3,000 miles long, following the reverse path of the Oregon Trail. This route celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the National Trails Systems Act and the 175th Anniversary of the Oregon Trail.
