And as usual, it is going to be awesome. This year, Utah’s premiere DIY Festival, celebrates more than 250 makers of hand-made items, outsider artists, vintage-goods pickers, and, generally, those who prefer the world in analog format. You’ll find one-of-a-kind creations to adorn your walls, decorate your home or wear on your body. (It’s also the perfect place to fine unique gifts to win the everlasting battle of gifting one-upmanship). The festival also has a space for the more digital minded in the Google Fiber STEM (Science. Tech. Engineering. Math, duh) Building where the secrets of high-tech wonders are revealed.
Go for yourself to get some inspiration and stroll in the sunshine with 20,000 of your close, personal Salt Lake scenesters and street performers, food trucks—all between two stages of live music and dance.
Also there’s beer.
Craft Lake City will be be held Friday, Aug. 10 from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 11 from noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 12 from noon to 7 p.m. at the Gallivan Center (239 S. Main Street). And if you don’t have reason enough to go it’s charitable! Craft Lake City is not just a fair it’s an organization with the mission to elevate Utah’s creative culture.
