Event Preview: NOVA Chamber Music Opening

NOVA Chamber Music’s 40th anniversary season is kicking off on October 29 at Libby Gardner Hall at the University of Utah School of Music.

This year, violinist Madeline Adkins (pictured), who has been described by the Baltimore Sun as “deliciously exuberant,” will be showcased along with several others including Utah Symphony’s principle flute player Mercedes Smith, members of the Utah Symphony brass section, Fry Street Quartet and pianist Kimi Kawashima.

“We want to put the spotlight on the extraordinary musicianship of our most outstanding local musicians, and we can think of no better way to start the season than hosting Madeline Adkins as soloist in the Chausson Concerto for Violin, Piano, and String Quartet,” says NOVA artistic director, Jason Hardink.

Tickets for this extraordinary concert can be purchases on their website and cost $20 for general admission, $18 for seniors and will be free for students. For more information go online or email NOVA.
