Description
Learn how to make your own artisanal shrubs (drinking vinegars) for at-home cocktail-making & more in our upcoming DIY workshop with local maker DRUPEFRUIT! Brooke Marple, the owner of DRUPEFRUIT, will demonstrate the process of making a classic shrub using fruit, sugar and vinegar. Participants will be able to sample a shrub in a few forms and explore the health benefits of drinking shrub. Brooke will also talk about the importance of using seasonal, local fruit and touch on the history of vinegar. Students will receive a 4oz bottle of a shrub to take home, as well as recipes to make a shrub, mocktail and vinaigrette. Included in the purchase price of the workshop ticket, attendees will enjoy a signature cocktail (or non-alcoholic mocktail!) at Alibi Bar & Place inspired by this specific workshop, handcrafted with care by Alibi’s talented bartenders. Workshop participants will have the opportunity to purchase additional beverages during the class if they so choose. This workshop is a 21+ event. No experience necessary and all supplies provided.
About the Instructor: Brooke Marple is the owner of DRUPEFRUIT, a beloved local shrub (fruity vinegar mixers) brand. DRUPEFRUIT’s mission is to introduce flavors through shrubs in a pleasant, fun manner. DRUPEFRUIT also wants to provide more beverage options to those who may need more variety or space from your typical soda or alcoholic drink. One of Brooke’s favorite things is changing someone’s perception of a food with just a taste, & thinks that vinegar is a pleasure that not enough have taken advantage of! You can find DRUPEFRUIT at various local stockists like the Central 9th Market, as well as local farmers markets.
