Description
A Nashville tale of chasing dreams and finding love told by country music hit-makers Monty Powell & Anna Wilson
“North and South” is a musical tale of two dreamers, a girl from the North and a boy from the South, who travel to Nashville, Tennessee in pursuit of careers as singer-songwriters, not realizing that their greatest success would be finding each other. This two-person show is the true story of hit songwriters Money Powell and Anna Wilson and is driven by their personal stories that are the inspiration behind the creation of their original songs that have been recorded and performed by superstars all over the world. An intimate concert experience that combines the format of “Springsteen on Broadway”, the ethos of the his movie “Once” and the songwriting magic of the world famous Bluebird Café, all rolled into one!
The performance is part of a concert series in celebration of First Presbyterian Church’s 150-years of ministry and service in the Salt Lake Valley. Concerts are being held in the FPC Sanctuary, which is noted for its fine acoustics. Proceeds from the series will benefit the 150th Anniversary Restoration Campaign. The Campaign goals including restoring the sandstone exterior and fragile terra cotta features (such as gargoyles and florets), replacing outdated mechanical systems, and modernizing common areas to ensure that the magnificent, historical landmark will continue as a faith and community home for generations to come. Photos of the project and additional information can be found at fpcslc.org/150th.
