Description
The Bluff Arts Festival, Bears Ears Education Center and Amy Irvine present Writing as Though Our Lives Depend on It – Because They Do – an in-depth writing workshop with proceeds benefiting the Bears Ears Education Center.
Whether it’s a letter to your county commissioner, a personal essay, short story, memoir, or novel, this workshop will help you conjure the best details, and the sharpest thoughts–both necessary to tell the stories that insist on justice and sustainability–in forms both personal and political. Join award-winning author and public lands activist Amy Irvine for an afternoon of writing with both joy and ferocity in precarious times. Bring a pen, paper, hat, and water bottle. Proceeds to benefit the Bears Ears Education Center.
SPACE IS LIMITED TO 10 PEOPLE, PLEASE REGISTER AND PAY THROUGH THE Bluff Arts Festival.
Amy’s most recent book, Desert Cabal, is published by Torrey House Press, the only literary, nonprofit book publisher focusing on conservation through literature in the West. In Desert Cabal: A New Season in the Wilderness, Amy Irvine admires the man who influenced her life and work while challenging all that is dated—offensive, even—between the covers of Abbey’s environmental classic. From Abbey’s quiet notion of solitude to Irvine’s roaring cabal, the desert just got hotter, and its defenders more nuanced and numerous.
