Bad Ties and BBQ: Your Father’s Day Weekend Guide

Father’s Day is around the corner and because we know you are bad sons and daughters we’ve put together a list of some activities in the Salt Lake and Park City areas.

Salt Lake City

Here’s an idea. You stink at golf but dad loves it. Spend the day with dad at TopGolf They are offering Father’s Day specials this weekend ranging from $75 – $140. Located in Midvale, reservations can be made on their website. And then butter steak! Ruth’s Chris will be doing a special Father’s Day dinner and is offering $25 gift cards. Reservations can be made here.

The popular french restaurant, La Caille, will be offering brunch from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m., and additional information can be found on their website. But their website is also in cursive so, there’s that. Also dad’s love to wear Hawaiian shirts and listen to blues music. The Utah Blues Festival is perfect for that. In addition, The Utah Foster Care Chalk Art Festival is happening this weekend and will offer activities the whole family. Maybe your dad likes chalk art. We don’t know.

If these don’t sound like something dad would be into don’t worry we’ve got YOU covered. Actually, Macklemore and Kesha have got you covered. They will be in town June 16 at USANA Amphitheater. You could, even rock your granddad’s clothes. Tickets here. And the circus is in town, like the fancy circus. Cirque Italia debut Aquatic Spectacular. This new water-themed show features aerialists, lasermen, (whatever that is), roller-skaters, jugglers and, of course, the wheel of death, which, umm scary. There may even be a prehistoric dinosaur (insert Dad joke here) that makes a guest appearance on Sunday, June 17 at the Provo Town Centre Mall. Tickets here.

Park City

Apex and Burgers & Bourbon at Montage Deer Valley will be offering their popular Empire burger, paired with a free vanilla or chocolate shake. Also there are cocktails. Dad loves cocktails. That’s why you’re in therapy. The first, we’ve got a Blood Orange Old Fashioned made with Maker’s Mark Bourbon, Solerno blood orange liquor, brandied cherry, a sugar cube, a orange wedge and Angostura bitters. The second, The Sch-Wagger made with Bulleit Bourbon, Frangelico, maple syrup, a sugar cube, club soda, mint leaves and pineapple juice. Flanagans on Main will be having a special brunch from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Dads get half off during the brunch so be sure to check it out this weekend. High West Distillery will be doing an all you can eat brunch (whiskey!) from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. Waldorf Astoria will have specials on a Sunday night staycation, in addition, they will be offering a dad-sized brunch. For more information check out the link. Wait, is it really that time of year again? It’s time to Savor the Summit. the Park City Restaurant Association annual bash on Main Street returns June 16th at 6 p.m. at the “Grande Table” down the center of Park City’s Historic Main Street. Twenty of Park City’s most prominent restaurants will offer their individual al fresco dining and beverage menus. The High West Spirit Garden returns this year with food, whiskey and music from jazzy soul (Joshy Soul & The Cool) to punk (The Number Ones). Bar service will be from 5 p.m. – 9:45 p.m., no ticket required. Visit their website for additional details.
