You could spend ages trying out a new recipe. You could try to recreate your grandma’s classic cookie creation. Odds are that something will go wrong; The oven wasn’t turned on (or was turned on too high), someone swapped the baking soda for powder, or you waited until 10 p.m on Christmas Eve to start the baking process.
Instead of tasking yourself with baking cookies that you are going to eat as Santa’s ‘helper,’ treat yourself to a cookie you can enjoy without the mess or stress. Here’s a list of local bakeries, cookie confectionaries, and sweet-treat havens that can do the crumb-y work for you.
Cassie’s Cookies — Salem — Did they say 40 flavors? It would seem so, with seasonal flavors like pumpkin cheesecake, maple cinnamon walnut, and candy cane, in addition to classics like M&M, oatmeal raisin, and chocolate chunk. They also have specialties with names like Snack Crack, if that satisfies your sniffer. You can stay inside and keep warm: Cassie’s delivers from Salem to Vineyard.
Sugar High Confections — Lehi — They happily take custom orders for all of life’s sweet moments. And, they even have some Keto friendly options! There’s a 24 hour turnaround on most products, as everything is freshly made when you order. Design your dream Christmas cookie, and don’t deal with the mess!
RubySnap — Salt Lake City — Is this Salt Lake without mentioning RubySnap? This December, RubySnap has seasonal specialties if you feel like straying from sugar or chocolate chip. Try Dottie, made with chocolate sour cream dough and a peppermint buttercream for a Christmas cookie with a twist.
Goodly Cookies — Salt Lake City — Another bakery with a knack for seasonal flavor, Goodly gives their own flair to a traditional taste. Try out their dark chocolate peppermint bark cookie, or perhaps a big CinnaJon, for the spice-lover in the corner. Of course, we can’t blame you for going classic Goodly General. (They have a gluten-free chocolate chip cookie available too!)
Shirley’s Bakery and Cafe — Provo — Hi, BYU! We see you! Pop over to Shirley’s and pick up a few festive favorites. Maybe a gingersnap or two, some sugar cookies, and a Chunky Charlie for the road. Nobody said Santa couldn’t snack early.
Smart Cookie Company — Midvale, American Fork, Farmington — For the frosting lover, Smart Cookie Company has cute confections that spread the holiday cheer. On top of their frosted wonders, they have seasonal flavors like pumpkin chocolate chip and gingersnap. They do a twist on a traditional cookie by tossing them in their Ice Cream Cookie Shakes and Sandwiches, if you don’t want to wait until everyone’s asleep. You’ll be sure to satisfy that sweet tooth at Smart Cookie Company.
Chip Cookie Co. — Heck, if you order Chip, you don’t even have to leave the house. Have some massive heaps of chocolate chip goodness delivered to your door, and all you have to do is throw away the box.
Sodalicious — Yeah, yeah, it’s a franchise. Hear us out, it’s a franchise with a drive-thru. They have a pretty wide selection, with a seasonal frosted gingerbread cookie here to warm up the winter. You can find one near you, pop over, order some cookies, and maybe pick up a Second Wife on Christmas Eve.
Crumbl Cookies — Another delivery cookie joint, but with locations spread across Utah and beyond, Crumbl’s menu changes weekly in addition to traditional sugar or chocolate chip. For instance, this week they have a Reese’s Peanut Butter Chip, Peppermint Bark, Muddy Buddy, and a Red Velvet Delight that come straight out of the oven.
