The Utah Film Commission is proud to present the feature film “We Love You, Sally Carmichael.” It opens exclusively at Megaplex Theaters today, August 4. The film was directed by and stars Christopher Gorham and was produced by local production company Go Films.
The film tells the story of author Sally Carmichael, author of hugely popular romance novels that chronicle the epic love story between a human girl and a merman.
However, no one knows that Sally Carmichael is actually Simon Hayes, a bitter, serious novelist. An author that is ashamed to have secretly written a series of young adult romance novels under the pen name of Sally Carmichael. When he is forced to meet a movie star about the movie adaptation, the author’s life of anonymity starts to crumble.
“We Love You, Sally Carmichael” was filmed across the Wasatch Front in June 2016, shooting Utah for Utah. It was approved for a film incentive through Utah’s Motion Picture Incentive Program, managed by the Utah Film Commission.
