Martians in Utah? Some may see an uncanny resemblance between Southern Utah’s terrain and Mars. A group of enthusiasts and researchers took it to the next level and established the Mars Desert Research Station just outside of Hanksville.
Built in the early 2000s, the station is owned and operated by the Mars Society—a space advocacy non-profit focused on promoting the human settlement of Mars. The MDRS allows the opportunity for intense field studies “under the constraints of a simulated Mars mission.” Sound like your cup of tea?
