Sure, there are plenty of things to do this first weekend in June, but I’ve got two great reasons you should head north this weekend and enjoy Ogden.
First, this weekend is the 11th Annual Ogden Music Festival. Held at Fort Buenaventura Park on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the three-day celebration welcomes everyone of every age with varying prices for passes to the event. But don’t worry if you need to bring the kiddos, Kids 16 and under are free. The organizers “hope that their experience with live, traditional music performed in an outdoor setting will inspire this next generation to keep these traditions alive.” Additionally, there will be outdoor-themed crafts, activities and the Imagine Music Musical Petting Zoo.

If a three-day music festival isn’t enough to get your up here, how about some classic cars? It’s time again for the Historic 25th Street Classic Car Show. The event, now in its 16th year, offers over 300 classic vehicles for you to peruse while putting you right in the middle of all the wonderful shops, restaurants and bars this street has to offer.
Parking is always a fun treat during the car show, but there are tons of open lots on 24th and 26th streets–just avoid 25th as it will be closed from Wall Ave. to Washington Blvd. all day. The awards ceremony, there 30 winners are selected by sponsors, business owners and Ogden city officials, will take place around 8:45 pm. Want to show off your car? Registration is still open. Unlike the music festival, the car show is a day only event on Friday, June 1 and admission is free for everyone.
Get on the FrontRunner or drive yourself up I-15 and explore Ogden in all its indie glory.
