Salt Lake City Arts Council

​The Salt Lake City Arts Council is a vital force in fostering the city’s vibrant arts scene. As a division of Salt Lake City Corporation’s Department of Economic Development, it promotes, presents, and supports a diverse range of arts activities to enrich the community’s cultural life 

Among its signature events is the Living Traditions Festival, held annually at Washington and Library Square. This free, family-friendly event celebrates Salt Lake City’s rich cultural diversity through traditional music, dance, crafts, and cuisine, fostering understanding and belonging among communities.​

The Council also presents the Twilight Concert Series, a summer staple featuring nationally recognized and emerging artists in an open-air downtown setting. Additionally, the Busker Fest brings street performers to Main Street, reviving the city’s Vaudeville heritage with quirky and joyful entertainment.​

Beyond events, the Arts Council supports artists through grants and programs like the Finch Lane Gallery, which showcases contemporary visual arts exhibitions. Its Public Art Program commissions artworks that enhance public spaces, contributing to the city’s aesthetic and cultural landscape.
