While several states have already voted to legalize recreational marijuana, the conversation in Utah is in a much different place. Christine Stenquist, director of Together for Responsible Use and Cannabis Education (TRUCE) Utah, is bringing this conversation to the forefront of Utah’s political stage. Stenquist, a patient of medical cannabis herself, experienced transformative effects after suffering from her own diagnosis of a brain tumor and chronic pain. Now, she has dedicated herself to educating Utahns on the medical, psychological and pain relieving benefits of marijuana for those suffering from debilitating diseases from cancer to epilepsy. A volunteer for the Utah Patients’ Coalition, Stenquist sat down with Salt Lake Speaks to explain what her goals are for this movement and how you can learn more about the effects of medical cannabis.
