Odyssey Dance Theatre once again adds a modern twist to the beloved holiday classic, The Nutcracker.
For the sixth year, ODT presents The ReduxNut-Cracker with the original Tchaikovsky score re-imagined and arranged in a pop/hip-hop style. Imagine Clara as the young lady whose imagination is inspired by the technological advances of today and is drawn into her smartphone to a magical world where Drosselmeyer drives a DeLorean, the soldiers are robots, and the gangsta mice have a hip-hop swagger.
Those that have made a Halloween tradition out of ODT’s Thriller will really enjoy the reimagined and updated version of ReduxNut-Cracker and will find it is fun and full of surprises. What a great way to take a break from holiday shopping and prepping. If this isn’t part of your holiday festivities, this is the year to add a new tradition to your celebrations.
