Salt Lake magazine staff members know the hottest events in the Beehive. Here’s what we’ll be up to this weekend.
Psychedelic Furs and The Church
I’m in a bit of a 80s music mood lately. The political turmoil in the United Kingdom, with the Brexit Vote has had me listening to a lot of Sex Pistols (Anarchy in the UK, anyone?). I saw Howard Jones and OMD at Red Butte a couple weeks ago and they both blew my cynical mind. And so, when I saw that the Psychedelic Furs and The Church were playing The Complex on Saturday, I knew I had to be there.
According to Internet set lists, The Church will open the show, the Aussie band is best known for their song “Under the Milky Way.” The Furs will follow, and you know them best from “Pretty In Pink,” a song they wrote for the movie of the same name.
And after the show, let’s all go to my place and watch all the John Hughes movies. Where have you gone, Andrew McCarthy?
