You’ve put the fireworks away until next year, Salt Lake. So, what should you do with the rest of your July? Well, here’s a few ideas.
LOVELOUD
Imagine Dragon’s Dan Reynolds went to Sundance this year with his documentary about reconciling the LDS church’s stance on LGBT+ issues and his LGBT+ beliefs. This weekend the second ever LOVELOUD festival is at Rice-Eccles on the University of Utah campus and has a lineup worthy of the all-caps name. Imagine Dragons, Tyler Glenn, Grace Vanderwaal and more. (Saturday)
COUNTRY FAN FEST
Maybe Imagine Dragons isn’t your thing. Maybe Tooele is your thing. Maybe bro-ing out to some new country is your thing. We gotcha covered there, too. At Country Fan Fest there’s on-site camping, lots of organized activities and music all day long. I can, in good conscience, recommend Dwight Yoakam (Friday, 8:15 p.m. on the main stage) and no one else on the lineup. But we all like different things. And that’s OK. (Friday, Saturday)
HALL OF BREAKFAST
What? You haven’t been to Hall of Breakfast yet? What are you even Instagramming? Take Sunday brunch next-level. This weekend is the last weekend for the pop-up museum housed in the former Urban Outfitters space at the Gateway. Reservations are required. Your followers will thank you. (Through the 31)
