Utah Ski Resorts Announce Opening Dates

There’s a chill in the morning air. Daylight fades earlier each evening. People are obsessing over notoriously inaccurate Farmer’s Almanac predictions. Do you feel it? Winter is coming. While the frost averse flock to warmer climes, the rest of us look up at the mountains hoping Ullr gifts us with a deep season.

Snow is in the forecast, ski season is around the corner and Utah resorts have announced their opening dates for 2018. Get your hands on the latest and greatest color coordinated Gore-Tex outerwear. Do some squats at home and join the preseason ski conditioning class at your local gym. Wax those skis and boards. Be sure to check out the uphill travel policies at each resort if you’re planning on earning your turns for a few preseason face shots, and remember that avalanches can happen in uncontrolled terrain even with a very shallow snow pack. Be safe. Shred hard. Pray for snow!
