We’ll all be eating at home. But you can still support local restaurants.

As of today, restaurants and bars in Salt Lake County are closed for sit-down service, Salt Lake County Mayor Jenny Wilson announced an hour ago. Summit County had already closed restaurant doors.

However, in Salt Lake, restaurants may still be open for take-out and curbside pickup. Not so in Summit County.

Call your local restaurants and see if they have take-out and pickup available. Do what you can to keep these small businesses solvent enough to weather this health crisis. Most of these workers earn by the hour and these closures will extremely affect them and their families.

If you’re worried, ask the establishment about their sanitary practices—when I was out this weekend, restaurant and bar staff were working double time to wipe down surfaces and keep their places sanitary. Hand sanitizer was available many places and some were wearing gloves.

Grocery stores are still open.
