Tap Talks — Using DNA Testing to Identify Heirloom Apple Varieties

Join Scion Cider Bar for its latest Tap Talk with Featured Speaker: Wesley Crump, currently working on identifying unknown apples in Utah through the use of genetic testing.
A USU Extension Assistant Professor in Wasatch and Summit counties focused on horticulture. His educational background includes a B.S. in Genetics from BYU (research on Penstemon) and an M.S. in Horticulture from Washington State University (research on Sweet Cherry breeding).

A few of his interests (not necessarily his strengths!) include heritage fruit trees and other perennial crops, plant breeding, native plants, plant dyes, and all things home-gardening.

Scion is a 21+ venue only. Valid ID required for entry.
Over 225 varieties of hard cider available to try, plus Non-Alcoholic options

FREE TO ATTEND!
