Join us at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art this Thursday from 6–8 PM for a screening of Calls From Home (2023, dir. Sylvia Ryerson), organized by the Utah Prison Education Project and Study and Struggle.
Calls From Home is an intimate documentary on rural prison expansion and WMMT-FM’s radio show, which connects incarcerated people in Central Appalachia with their loved ones.
Following the film, hear from local and national organizers fighting to dismantle mass incarceration and Free the Mississippi Five, a group of women collectively imprisoned for over 175 years.
Plus, explore a one-night-only art exhibit by Mississippi Five art fellow Corey Devon Arthur, and check out zines and posters available at the event.
