Park City’s 2nd Annual Main Street Shot Ski Event

As summer comes to a close we all know that insufferable, yet unavoidable, phase between the end of summer and the beginning of fall that we are about to endure. That phase where we have all put away our crop tops and cut-off shorts (hopefully put away forever) and are embracing the idea of cozy sweaters and pumpkin spice everything (basic). That phase where even though our brains have transitioned into fall, the heat has decided to make its final scorching blaze. No matter how many pairs of Uggs you wear, or however quickly you start sewing handmade Halloween costumes for your kids, the heat of summer is impossible to get off of our backs…literally.

So while you are sweating away in your new burnt-orange sweater and leather boots, cool yourself down with the thought of what is to come: Park City’s Second Annual Sunrise Rotary Shot Ski! Sponsored by Wasatch Brewery, the Sunrise Rotary is once again asking for a group of passionate volunteers to take a “shot” of refreshing Wasatch beer to help raise money for the Park City Sunrise Rotary. Whether you are familiar or unfamiliar with the Sunrise Rotary’s Shot Ski, mark your calendars for Saturday, October 14th so that you can join in on this year’s record-breaking event. The one long ski (440 skis bolted together) will be hoisted that day at 2:00 p.m. with every intent of breaking the record of 1,234 participants set by Breckenridge last January. There will be a beer garden hosted by Wasatch Brewery in the Brew Pub lot from noon until 6:00, with live music, games, and a food truck to wrap up a successful afternoon of shot ski.

There will be several different ticket options for this event, including:

  • $20 ticket, good for one unreserved spot on a ski
  • $25 ticket, good for one unreserved spot on a ski plus entrance to the beer garden, plus your first beer (capacity limited to 600)
  • $500 VIP Team Ticket, which includes:
    • 6 reserved spots on two skis
    • 2 skis wrapped with your team or company name to take home as a souvenir
    • 6 entrance passes to the Wasatch Beer Garden
    • 6 beer tokens

Tickets are expected to go fast this year, so purchase your ticket as soon as possible by going to www.parkcityshotski.eventbrite.com. For those of you who are extra passionate about Shot Ski, Wasatch Brewery founder Greg Schirf will be handing out gift cards and Wasatch “swag” to entrants dressed up in the best regalia. So put the post-summer blues behind you, start planning your most “shot ski” inspired look, and join us for this exciting annual tradition to help raise money for a very worthwhile cause. See you in October!
